                        Eastville Chickens and Eggs

Welcome

This website is just for informational purposes and I am not a professional. This site is my opinion and my views, which may not be the same as yours. I am not an expert...Any of your opinions, comments, or facts will be appreciated. Thank you and enjoy!

We have a variety of chickens that we raise on our property. I now have just a few chickens...I a raising Black Copper Marans. I have only a couple and will be allowing the hens to hatch their own chicks when they are old enough.

We started out four years ago with 35 chickens, we only have 10 now, and they are wonderful.. I sold their eggs through a local farmer's market  in Athens, Georgia called Locally Grown. A local high school student who was with the FFA needed some chickens for a project. I sold him most of our chickens. Which he used as show chickens, we were very proud!

I have five children who enjoy helping me with all the feeding, watering, and cleaning of the chickens.. Each child has a favorite or two that they call their own.

We just hatched a new batch of chickens which you can see in our photo album. We hatched them on May 6th 2009.

  Broadbreasted Bronze

These are beautiful, stately birds of the barnyard must be seen to be appreciated. They have a metallic sheen of  feathers that changes from copper to bronze to burnished gold as light moves across them. Four feet in length, six feet from wing tip to wing tip, a full grown tom will weigh in at about 38 pounds. Hens easily go 22 pounds.

WE NO LONGER ARE RAISING TURKEYS...
